Technology is only computers; my student already knows how to use one.
Technology is broken down into three major areas.
• Physical Technology: Making, moving, or building things.
• Biotechnology: Technology dealing with living things.
• Information Technology: Technology dealing with sending, receiving and understanding messages.
It is true that today that most people assume that information technology is the only technology schools incorporate into their curriculum. This is of course not true. Schools incorporate the basic understanding of the principles behind such technologies in ways, so that as students move onto higher academics they will have the solid foundations that they need. For example, a basic robotics class seems like its more fun than anything. But in actuality it is the basic foundation for Biotechnology. How you might ask? Well today doctors are using robotic arms to perform more complex surgeries. This basic understanding of circuits, moving parts, and programming is giving your student the foundation to move on and possibly build such technological advances.
